Albert’s Story

Re-established in 2019

Albert Cottage was relocated from Albert Street, Hastings early one morning in December 2017. Relocation photos attached.

The front balustrade, coincidentally, was part of the original balustrade of the old Albert Hotel in Hastings. Photo attached.

The original front door is now the laundry shed door, hense the no “407”, photo attached.

We have lovingly renovated this cute little cottage, polished up the beautiful wooden floors and added french doors to open the cottage to the peaceful country side and make the most of the Hawke’s Bay sun.

Many of the furniture pieces inside Albert Cottage have special meaning to us and so have been lovingly re-purposed especially for the cottage. The dining room table was our first furniture purchase nearly 33 years ago. The bedhead is a 100 yr old timber door from our original outside laundry. photo attached.
